The Mission Committee of the State Correctional Institute (SCI) at Dallas, PA  had our service Wednesday night where all the men shared concerning the mission they represent. Brother K. Keller opened in prayer and welcomed all in attendance. Then, A brief calling to order where I was introduced to speak on Crossroads Community Center 2916-18 N 6th  St. Philadelphia PA 19133, which is an organization located in the Fairhill section of Philadelphia and is deeply concerned for the neighborhood. It holds Summer sports for children and has a reading club, a weekly Bible club where each week the Gospel is explained to the children and an invitation is given to receive Jesus. Also, a social worker is available for counseling and emergency situations. A prison ministry is held for women at the local prison.

I also represent Correspondence In Christ Ministries, PO Box 60753, Philadelphia PA 19133, an evangelistic outreach since 1993, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the well being of young people and adults through Cultural, Spiritual, and Educational programs. They support and maintain the family unit and have programs designed to show meaningful alternatives to life on the streets. They are sustained entirely through contributions of generous people which includes inmates at SCI DALLAS.

Other brothers shared including David Ludwig, Franklin Paulino, Caesar Strode, Russell Selby, among others, concerning missions work. My favorite time of the year is when we begin to collect for our annual Christmas Shoebox Project which has grown to 24 children being provided with gifts and goodies (I love selecting a personal plush toy for each child/family). This goes to the Back Mountain food pantry here near Dallas, Pa where there is much need. Please keep our missions in prayer and that we can keep blessing our communities far and near. The men here thank you sincerely from their hearts.

Your truly, Alexis “Lex” Rodriguez.
